Juveniles try to outrun cops in stolen car

Local St. Augustine reporters at Historic City News have learned that this morning, Police Officer Chris Miller attempted to stop two juveniles in a speeding vehicle — that appears to be stolen.

Chief McElroy retires after 26 years of service

St. Johns County Fire Rescue announced to local reporters with Historic City News the retirement of Fire Prevention Chief and Fire Marshal Frank McElroy today; following 26 years of career service to St. Johns County.

FSU releases statement – investigation continues

Tallahassee Police Department Public Information Officer David McCranie, told reporters with Historic City News that Florida Department of Law Enforcement is learning more today about the dead body discovered yesterday behind the Wingate by Wyndham hotel on SR-16 just west of I-95 and believed to be Vincent Binder.

St. Johns County Sheriff David B. Shoar told Historic City News local reporters that his office is now available on Facebook — the popular social networking website.

Billboards on railroad property coming down

In a process that started as part of an annexation request to the city, local reporters from Historic City News learned that highway billboards along US-1 between the north city gates and the county courthouse are coming down for good.

The local St. Johns County news reporters at Historic City News have learned that the Hastings Potato & Cabbage Festival will return to Hastings on Saturday, May 8, 2010.

New 7th Circuit Judge: Terence Perkins

Today, Governor Charlie Crist announced to local reporters at Historic City News that he has appointed Terence R. Perkins to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge John V. Doyle on the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court.

Second unidentified body discovered today

Although Sergent Chuck Mulligan told Historic City News local reporters that he did not suspect the two were connected, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the suspicious death of a black man found in an abandoned vehicle early this morning.
