The clock is ticking on teacher tenure bill

Teachers and students were out in force this afternoon and Historic City News reporters caught up with them as they picketed to the sounds of car horns, supportive gestures and cheers; just outside of the local legislative office of District 20 Representative Bill Proctor.

St Johns County motor vehicle accidents

St. Johns County news reporters learned from Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Lieutenant William H. Leeper that a total of four people have suffered serious injuries in two separate automobile accidents in St. Johns County in the last two days — one a 7 year-old child.

Morris campaign finance reports pack a wallop

In the race to fill the District 4 seat on the St. Johns County Commission, Ponte Vedra Beach Resident John H. “Jay” Morris turned in his first campaign financial report last week; demonstrating that, for what he lacks in political name recognition countywide, he makes up for in strong financial support in his district.

Progress meeting regarding Riberia improvements

Public Information Coordinator Cathy DuPont announced to Historic City News that the City of St. Augustine will hold a public meeting regarding the future improvements of Riberia Street — from King Street south to Cerro Street.

Due to a water main break on San Marco Avenue this morning, Historic City News has been requested to alert our readers that, as a precaution, all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes be boiled.

Arrest in Internet fraud – identity theft case

Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Debra Johnson reported a wide-scale Internet scheme to Historic City News after detectives and agents from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement shut down the operation which has scammed at least 50 people.
