Firefighters get large animal emergency training

Public Education and Information Officer Jeremy Robshaw reported to the St. Johns County news desk of Historic City News that 35 firefighters from St Johns County and Clay County Technical Rescue Teams spent Easter weekend learning large animal rescue techniques.

Mark A. Stanley, 50, St. Augustine, passed away unexpectedly at Flagler Hospital on April 5, 2010.

Katie Latona

Katie Latona, 21, died tragically on April 5, 2010, in St. Augustine.

Charles C. Huff

Charles C. Huff, 90, of Elkton, Fla., died April 4, 2010, at Moultrie Creek Nursing Home. He was born in Milledgeville, Ga., and had resided here most of his life.

Three in custody following afternoon robbery

Community Affairs Officer Barbara Clifford of the St. Augustine Police Department informed local news reporters at Historic City News that two men and one juvenile were taken into custody yesterday after police say they robbed and beat a man on Anastasia Island.

Sudden Fiction Latino anthology selects Veiga

Marisella Veiga, who teaches English at Flagler College, recently had her short story, “Fresh Fruit,” selected for publication in the prestigious anthology, “Sudden Fiction Latino: Short-Short Stories from the United States and Latin America.”
