Energy Star appliance rebates start April 16th

Local Sears Hometown Store owner Jack Bunch announced to Historic City News reporters that Florida residents can access $17,585,000 in rebates available as part of the state’s “Cash for Appliances” rebate program.

John Vincent Maguire

John Vincent Maguire (Jay), 63. of St. Augustine, Fla., died March 29, 2010, at his home and will be greatly missed. He was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine. John was executive vice president for David Dobbs Enterprises.

Ethel L. Grunder

Ethel L. Grunder, 84, passed away on April 4, 2010, at Ponce Care Center. Ethel was a longtime resident of Wayne, N.J., before moving to St. Augustine 28 years ago.

Pamela V. Gross

Pamela V. Gross of St. Augustine passed quietly at her home Saturday, April 3, 2010; she was 57 years old.

Lois Frances Butler

Lois Frances Butler, age 74, of St. Augustine, died on April 3, at her home. She was born in Jamaica, Queens, New York and had been a resident of St. Augustine since 1988, moving here from Freeport, Long Island, New York.

Structure total loss after Gregory Avenue blaze

St. Johns County Fire Rescue spokesman Jeremy Robshaw reported a substantial residential structure fire that occurred last night at approximately 9:45 p.m. to the St. Johns County local news desk at Historic City News.

Historic City News learned that a Palm Coast couple is facing multiple charges, including child neglect, after Flagler County deputies discovered a methamphetamine lab in the garage of their home Sunday afternoon.
