Adamec A former 8th Judicial Circuit prosecuting attorney is headed to prison for nearly two years after his sentencing hearing Wednesday afternoon, January 9, 2018.  Christopher William Adamec was sentenced to 22-months in prison, an additional 10-years of probation, and restitution in excess of $100,000 to be returned to at least three of his private law clients.

31-year-old Mark K Juen Jr, who resides on Meadow Blessing Ln in Callahan, has only been on-the-job four months as a St Johns County Law enforcement deputy. But, yesterday, Friday afternoon about 12:45 p.m., he learned that just because you are driving a patrol car doesn’t mean you can’t cause and accident. And, if you do, it doesn’t mean you won’t get a ticket.

At about 8:00 p.m. last night, Historic City News was informed that St Augustine Police had been dispatched to 60 Julia Street to quiet a disturbance.  The victim, a female resident of the home claimed that she was “pushed down by Errol Jones and was trapped in her room”.

At about 11:00 a.m. Friday, Historic City News was informed that a St Johns County major crimes detective, 52-year-old Jeffrey Lewis Cook, has been arrested and charged with lewd & lascivious molestation.  As of Monday morning, Cook remains in custody for the second-degree felony, in lieu of $150,000 bond.

Historic City News learned that, 87-year-old Alwin Hoffmann from Jacksonville, had just been involved in a minor motor vehicle crash in the westbound lanes of SR-16 at Fortner Road on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at about 10:00 p.m.
