Historic City News has learned that Frank and Betty Usina will be inducted into the elite corps of recipients of the St. Augustine La Florida Award.

At the regular meeting of the St. Augustine Board of City Commissioners, the commission will tend to public hearings and final action on four ordinances (as well as the introduction of a fifth) all of which have been adjusted to comply with court rulings concerning the city’s regulations on visual arts, vending, and parades.

Historic City News has been informed that the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners will begin their regular meeting on Tuesday, September 15, at 1:30 pm instead of the normal 9:00 am start time.

City Manager Bill Harriss, flanked by former commissioner Bill Lennon and Chief Administrative Officer Tim Burchfield attended this mornings commemoration ceremony in the Plaza de la Constitución.

St. Johns County Health Department Public Information Officer Noreen Nickola-Williams reported to Historic City News that on Monday, August 24th, Florida Department of Health launched a toll-free number to provide public health information and updates on H1N1 Swine Flu.
