Jenny O’Dell reported to Historic City News that at noon on Friday, candidate qualifying for Senate District 8 officially closed.

On Monday’s City of St. Augustine commission agenda there will be public hearings and final action on proposals to increase the proposed fire assessment fees and electric utility tax.

City Attorney Ron Brown reported to Historic City News that he will recommend delaying action to rescind 22.6, the current Plaza ordinance, until the September 14 St. Augustine City Commission meeting.

Tara Dodson reported to Historic City News that several changes are in store for St. Johns County beaches this weekend, including impacts from Atlantic storm activity and the re-opening of Porpoise Point to vehicles.

Prosperity Bank reported to Historic City News that they have been chosen to receive a Jefferson Award from HandsOn Jacksonville and the Jacksonville Business Journal.

I’m sure by now that everyone who reads this weekly Op/Ed has no doubt in their mind that I am a Conservative. Most of us Conservatives question ourselves everyday about how America got to where it is today, when in fact there is no easy answer.
