Historic City News has been informed that a local group of heritage families, many of whom are of Menorcan descent, are adding their voice to the efforts of the pro-veteran’s group, “Save Their Honor”, who will be working with the Florida legislature this session to enact the state’s first Veterans Memorial Protection and Preservation Law.
This morning at about 9:31 a.m., detention deputies at the Flagler County jail discovered the body of an inmate against a cell door, the victim of an apparent suicide. The jail was immediately placed on lockdown while onsite medical staff assisted officers performing CPR until Flagler County Fire Rescue could arrive.

The November 6th General Election is quickly approaching. An important deadline is coming — October 9th is the deadline to register to vote.
The Florida Bar, the state’s guardian for the integrity of the legal profession, announced to Historic City News today that five of the twelve disciplinary actions taken last month against Florida attorneys, were taken against attorneys practicing in St Johns and Duval County.
Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Allen Nelson, that traffic will be impacted at the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.

On September 24, I made the decision to withdraw from the contest for City Commissioner in the City of St Augustine Beach. I came to my decision not to challenge Mayor Undine George on my own, realizing that my choice would hand over Seat 3 to her for the next four-years.
