Financial help for farmers, ranchers, and foresters

Through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program, St Johns County’s agricultural landowners may receive financial and technical assistance to improve soil, water, air, plants, animals and related resources. Eligible land includes cropland, rangeland, pastureland, private non-industrial forestland, and other farm or ranch lands.

Historic City News has learned that, due to significant erosion caused by Hurricane Irma, the Roscoe Boulevard bridge north of Landrum Lane will be closed for repairs beginning Thursday September 21.

Historic City News was informed today that St Johns County has reopened to the public the boat ramp on the Vilano Beach Causeway, after a brief closure due to Hurricane Irma.

City holds final 2017-18 budget hearings

Wednesday afternoon, the St Augustine City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency, considered resolutions related to the budgets of its two Community Redevelopment Areas; the Historic Area CRA and the Lincolnville CRA. The Community Redevelopment Agency also voted on the Lincolnville “Fix It Up Program” and “Rehabilitation Program”.

Traffic stop ends in arrest for multiple drug crimes

On Saturday, September 16th at approximately 10:49 p.m., St. Augustine Beach Police Department Officer Tyler Thompson stopped a speeding vehicle driving west on SR-312. What he discovered led to the arrest of the driver on four felony and five misdemeanor drug-related charges.
