The St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce will host the return of the annual Ponte Vedra Auto Show on Sunday, September 13th at the TPC Sawgrass and all Historic City News readers are invited to attend from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Betty Griffin House Executive Director Joyce Mahr reported to Historic City News today that they have received a $10,000 grant from the Mazda Foundation to support the local Outreach Therapy Program.

Today, the Florida Sheriffs Association announced to Historic City News that Motorola Solutions Foundation has generously made a $20,000 donation to create a STEM Scholarship program for hard-working students who are pursuing a career in a STEM-related field.

Historic City News photojournalist Raphael Cosme was on hand as the Celebrate 450 and Founders Day activities concluded on Tuesday, September 8th; the actual date that Pedro Menendez and about 800 settlers came ashore and established St Augustine as America’s oldest enduring city of European origin in 1565.

To honor the 450th anniversary the first muster of America’s original citizen-soldiers and the 450th birthday of the Florida National Guard, on Wednesday, September 16th, 2015, Florida Living History, Inc. will partner with the Florida National Guard and Florida Department of Military Affairs to present “First Muster 2015”.
