Everyone knows that Marines are tough. Just how tough has yet to be completely proven. St. Johns County is now home to another Marine.
St Augustine Streets and Grounds Manager, Charlene Putz, reported to Historic City News that beginning Monday, December 9th, and continuing through Friday, December 13th, the city will be resurfacing Avenida Menendez, from King Street south to St Francis Street.
During a meeting last night, the Easter Week Festival committee voted 7-4 to continue the traditional Easter Sunday afternoon parade for 2014 — a recurring spring holiday celebration that dates back in St Augustine to the early 1950’s.
Historic City News heard from Patrician D. Price this week when she shared a number of ongoing and special January events already planned for the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve, located at 505 Guana River Road in Ponte Vedra Beach.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of St. Johns County, Florida will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. in Conference Room 1 at the Permit Center, 4040 Lewis Speedway, St. Augustine, FL 32084. The purpose of the special meeting is to conduct a Concurrency Workshop to have discussion of Transportation Planning topics and the County Transportation Concurrency Program. The Youth Ambassadors recently met at the World Golf Hall of Fame. We toured the museum, looking at exhibits showcasing golfers who had been inducted into the Hall of Fame. We also learned stories about some of the golfers, facts about golf, and its origin.
