St Augustine Youth Services says wear a blue ribbon
Alison Johnson reminds Historic City News readers in St Augustine and St Johns County that April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month; since 1989, thousands of people nationwide wear the blue ribbon in April to create awareness of the need to keep kids safe and families strong.



Fort Mose Historic State Park recently received confirmation that three of the park’s events have been accepted into the National Park Service’s National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom; according to an announcement received by Historic City News local news desk on Friday.
Raphael Cosme reported to Historic City News that on Friday, March 23rd, the Cathedral Parish School held a Florida Archaeology Month Celebration that included a presentation by distinguished researcher Dr. Kathleen Deagan.
St Augustine will play host to 45 members of the Girl Scouts of Gateway Council who have been selected and trained to participate in a 1740’s “San Agustin Reenactment Encampment” taking place from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Saturday in the Colonial Spanish Quarter Museum located at 29 St George Street.
The executive director of the St Johns County Cultural Council, Andy Witt, attended this morning, along with Historic City News and other media organizations, to learn more about the success of the annual shrimp festival in Fernandina Beach at a seminar sponsored by the Southeast Festivals and Events Association.
