The topic for this column was suggested by a reader. They are concerned about aggressive, unleashed dogs that are allowed to roam in their neighborhood.
Yesterday when the House Civil Justice Subcommittee had the chance to sunset an antiquated Florida law that guarantees a monopoly on legal advertising to the failing newspaper industry, District 19 Representative Mike Weinstein of Jacksonville voted to kill the idea.
The Florida House and Senate are considering a couple of bills that will directly impact St Augustine because they relate to a long standing and nationally recognized institution in town, The Florida School for the Deaf and Blind.

Florida lawmakers are considering a common sense measure, supported by Historic City News, that will ensure good benefits for our police and firefighters — while respecting taxpayers.
First of all, everyone who knows me knows that I am the poster child for Republican values; am a member of the local Republican club, and I am an elected Precinct Committeeman of the Republican Party of St Johns County, so, don’t be shocked that I have a very conservative opinion of party affiliation.
