Hyperbole, used intentionally to exaggerate an opinion, should never be taken as fact; neither should the opinion expressed leave any doubt in the readers mind as to the image that the writer is trying to paint.

Where do I begin? I have battled the State of Florida to save a piece of St. Augustine History for over a decade.
St. Johns County Commission chairman Joseph “Ken” Bryan sits on high; he is perched above lowly taxpayers who dare approach the podium, in dissent and distress, at the auditorium of the County Administration Palace — where he metes out fire and brimstone the likes of which Martin Luther himself could only fancy.
Ladies and gentlemen, we interrupt our program of dance music to bring you a special bulletin from the Intercontinental Radio News. At twenty minutes before eight, central time, Professor Farrell of the Mount Jennings Observatory, Chicago, Illinois, reports observing several explosions of incandescent gas, occurring at regular intervals on the planet Mars.
Clarifying a characterization of two of the three private companies that have submitted their qualifications to manage St. Augustine’s Colonial Spanish Quarter as “local”, and segregated Orlando Dinner Entertainment, Inc. as “not”, when the fact is that all three of the companies who want a shot at managing the Spanish Quarter are headquartered out-of-town.

The minor furor in today’s St. Augustine paper is a bit misleading: I would like Historic City News readers to know that our mooring fields provide a good service to cruisers and residents of St. Augustine and St. Johns County alike.
