Jacksonville wins bid for broadband fiber network

300-INTERNET-CAFEA joint press conference with the Mayor of Jacksonville, Alvin Brown, and a spokesman for AT&T, is planned for tomorrow, Tuesday August 19, at 10:00 a.m. in Jacksonville City Hall, announcing that AT&T will be bringing its faster broadband fiber network to Jacksonville, making it one of 25 cities in the country to get the high-end service.

Nancy Shaver, like so many other Lincolnville residents, was delighted when the community pool at the Willie Galimore Center was reopened. In 2010, after being closed for more than a year, and, despite an Interlocal agreement with the Parks and Recreation Department of St Johns County to maintain the public facilities, Assistant County Administrator Jerry Cameron informed the City of St Augustine that there was nothing more they could do.
