Frontier expands service in St Augustine to Washington DC

400FRONT_050214_0117Frontier Airlines began nonstop service from Northeast Florida Regional Airport in St. Augustine, to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). Frontier also offers nonstop service from Northeast Florida Regional Airport to Trenton Mercer Airport in Trenton/Princeton, NJ. Historic City News was on hand on May 2nd when Frontier restored commercial airline service to the local airport; a convenient alternative to larger, more expensive airports in the region.

Residents vow to continue protest of 7-Eleven

300-4795DBAlthough the City of St Augustine has approved plans to issue a building permit to construct a convenience store and 12-pump gas station on the long-vacant property at the intersection of May Street and San Marco Avenue, the residents say that will not weaken their resolve to protest the store that they say will cause the intrusion of hundreds of cars through their neighborhood daily.

Historic City News was informed today that Declan Reiley has been named vice president of economic development for the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce. Reiley earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Florida State University and graduate certificate from the Economic Development Institute of the University of Oklahoma.
