Candidates asked tourism-related policy questions
On Monday, August 4, Historic City News readers are invited to attend a free Candidate Forum, hosted by tourism industry businesses in St Johns County. When you register, you will have the opportunity to submit a question of interest to you.

According to a new research study published by Americans for the Arts, using statistical data provided by Dun & Bradstreet, the authors of the study have informed Historic City News that St. Johns County is home to 714 creative industries; employing about 1,861 people.
The information contained in this report is taken from sources deemed reliable; the accuracy and completeness of which Historic City News does not control and cannot guarantee.
Those who have complained about the potential loss of St Augustine’s iconic “Santa Maria” sign, atop the unremarkable restaurant that bears its name, can sleep better knowing that swashbuckling business tycoon, Pat Croce, won’t pursue further attempts to remodel the aging piece of history that they hold so dear.
The next time you pass by, you will notice that the large steel sign frame, at the corner of King Street and Ponce de Leon Boulevard, has been removed; just one of several business locations where the owners have voluntarily complied with provisions of an updated sign ordinance that was passed by the St Augustine City Commission.
