The City of St. Augustine reported to Historic City News that a water main break occurred on Cordova Street August, 13th — the break has now be repaired and contained.

Its nice for Historic City News to be able to report on at least one local company that says “business is looking up” despite the sagging economy.

Communications Director Jay Humphreys with the St. Augustine Visitors and Convention Bureau updated Historic City News on this weekend’s entertainment events including a rodeo, pub crawl and concerts.

On 4th of July weekend my wife and I took our out-of-town guests to La Pentola at 58 Charlotte Street, St. Augustine, Florida for Sunday Brunch. It was a beautiful day, so we took advantage of their very attractive courtyard and dined al fresco.

Historic City News listened along with City Commissioners to a suggestion that might benefit a proposed St. Augustine Foot Soldiers monument from current County Commissioner Ken Bryan who says that the city should use the reopening of the Bridge of Lions as a fundraiser.

Historic City News has observed as the ground area was laid out for a museum and exhibit center behind the Prince of Peace Church at the Mission of Nombre de Dios on San Marco Avenue.
