Traveling to St Augustine on the path less taken
When the five men walked from the St Augustine Municipal Marina into our morning coffee meeting at Athena Restaurant yesterday, they remarked about seeing us here “last year” — and wondered if we had ever gone home; always the one with the best response, Herbie Wiles turned and said, “No, we keep a change of clothes in the kitchen”.

Free fishing clinic for area kids
Historic City News readers are invited to bring their children, aged 3 through 15, for a Kids’ Fishing Clinic at Bing’s Landing County Park, south of Marineland in the Hammock on SR-A1A, this Saturday July 13. This free clinic will be held from 8:00 a.m. until noon Saturday at Bings Landing; located at 5826 North Oceanshore Boulevard in Palm Coast.
Civic Association raises $7,000 for charity
Historic City News was informed that Saint Augustine Beach Civic Association members Frank Ward, Bob Samuels, Mike Mele and Paul Salva presented Betty Griffin House Joyce Mahr with a $7,000 donation from the 8th annual Taste of the Beach; held Sunday May 19, 2013 at the St Johns County Pier.
Entertainers banned from Hypolita Street
Historic City News reporters learned, with little surprise, that the unanimous decision of the St Augustine City Commission would be to ban buskers and street performances on Hypolita Street all together — from St. George Street to Avenida Menendez; the new ordinance 2013-16 will take effect in 10-days.
