Dear Editor:
In 2007, work began on a multi-acre new community being developed by the title holder, Woodlawn PUD. It is across the street from my neighborhood at the west entrance of Heritage Park Drive.
St Augustine is a city where history is all around us — centuries of it; from the time of the discovery of La Florida in 1513, the settlement of our city in 1565, through domestic wars, and wars of conscience, led by those who have participated, both as good citizen-soldiers, as well as elected government officials.

The recent attention given to the hit-and-run death of 43-year-old Randy Wayne Miller has brought the safety of our bicyclists in the city to the discussion table. I have always been a supporter of our cyclists in this city and always will be.

Dear Editor:
I’ve been working with St Augustine Vice-Mayor Nancy Sikes-Klein and City Commissioner Leanna Freeman to try to allow outdoor sidewalk dining along San Marco Avenue in North City.
There is a word that defines someone who tries to get an advantage for themselves from a situation without thinking about what is right — that person is referred to as an “opportunist”. The word is often used to describe politicians, and it is not considered a desirable trait.
Not a lot of news to report today, lots was happening — but most of the activity was around a dinner table, surrounded by family and friends, two and four-legged, shaved or furry, we accept each other, “warts and all” as my mother once told me.
