Qualifying week underway for local candidates
Of 65 announced candidates in various municipal, county and special district elections in St Johns County, Historic City News has verified that 36 candidates have already turned in their required paperwork since the holding period opened on May 21; pursuant to Section 99.061(8), F.S.
The countdown starts Monday
Next week, St Johns County Supervisor of Elections, Vicky Oakes, will be begin processing candidate qualifying papers for county, municipal and local district candidates seeking election, or re-election, this year; beginning at 12:00 noon on Monday.
Pawlowski calls Beach Town Hall meeting
Undine Pawlowski, City of St. Augustine Beach Commissioner, invited Historic City News readers to attend her next “Town Hall” meeting; scheduled for Thursday, May 31, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Anastasia Island public library located in the Sea Grove Town Center.
Precinct polling place list approved
Supervisor of Elections, Vicky Oakes, reported to Historic City News that at this morning’s special meeting of the St Johns County Commission, her submitted changes to precinct polling locations necessitated by the recent ten-year redistricting plan were approved.
Flagler Commissioner resigns to run for state legislature
Democrat Milissa M Holland, who lives in Palm Coast and turns 41 years-old next month, resigned Friday from the Flagler County Commission to run for the Florida House District 24 seat; encompassing southern St Johns County, all of Flagler County, and north Volusia County.
