Although appearing as Item 22 on the Consent Agenda for yesterday’s Board of County Commissioner’s meeting, the celebration of naming the Richard O. Watson Judicial Center overshadowed the resolution to approve execution of an employment contract on behalf of the County with Patrick F. McCormack.
During a celebration honoring him today; the courthouse will be named for Senior Circuit Judge Richard Watson.
The special recognition will be the first order of business for the St. Johns County Commissioners when their meeting opens at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 1.
The new Southeast Annex, serving the citizens of southern St. Johns County, is complete and ready for operation.
Residents of southeast St. Johns County now will be able to register their automobiles, pay their taxes, secure drivers licenses, and conduct all the other activities normally handled at the Main Tax Collector’s Office located on Lewis Speedway.
Putnam County officials don’t think St. Johns County is treating them fairly by proposing to put a prison work farm in Hastings, and they’ve sent a letter of protest to the St. Johns County Commission.
