The City of St. Augustine will attempt to hold their regularly scheduled meeting tonight; however, Historic City News has learned that at least two commissioners will not be in town.
U.S. Attorney Robert O’Neill turned over to Historic City News a list of defendants being prosecuted for income tax related crimes, including many unassuming everyday people and some celebrities such as Wesley Trent Snipes — who was found guilty of three counts of willful failure to file a tax return by a federal jury in Ocala.
It has been over a year since Historic City News first reported that Assistant City Attorney Carlos Mendoza had begun fashioning the controversial horse-drawn carriage ordinance; however, unless further substantial revisions are made, it will be voted on Monday night.

Historic City News learned that, while the total cost for the City to repair damages at the Visitor Information Center was $390,000, city commissioners last week approved a settlement from contractors Perry-McCall and Walker Parking Consultants for only $200,000.
