The St. Augustine City Commission wrapped up 2010 with two important tasks that were reported to Historic City News – assignment of commissioners to local area boards and review of commission-appointed committees.
“New Year’s Day is a time to celebrate with family and friends, and to look towards the coming year with great anticipation,” Florida Governor Charlie Crist told Historic City News in a special holiday announcement this morning. “It is also a time to reflect on the past year and be thankful for our many blessings.”
All offices of the City of St. Augustine will be closed today Friday, December 31, New Year’s Eve.
In a report published to Historic City News this evening, a statewide grand jury concluded, “The public is tired of officials who abuse their position or ignore conflicts of interest.”
Historic City News public safety reporters were watching today during an emergency meeting of the St. Johns County Board of Commissioners when they adopted a resolution which authorizes the county administrator to enact a burn ban for St. Johns County effective immediately.
