On December 2, 2019, the City of St Augustine Beach held a Regular Commission Meeting, discussing and presenting issues like an appointment to the Comprehensive Planning and Zoning Board, Beach Blast Off into 2020, amendments to the comprehensive plan, and the reappointment of two members to the Sustainability and Environmental Planning Advisory Council (SEPAC).

St Johns County state legislator Cyndi Stevenson will try again to secure funding to preserve the tower of the iconic St Augustine Lighthouse.  Since 2017, the St Augustine Republican has unsuccessfully pushed for the St Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum to receive hundreds of thousands of dollars for preservation and repairs each session.

St Johns County notified Historic City News under the Neighborhood Bill of Rights that there will be a discussion about temporary morning hours access and parking to beach access points on Ponte Vedra Boulevard from 545 Ponte Vedra Boulevard to 311 Ponte Vedra Boulevard.

Today the State of Florida took possession of the 57-acre property referred to as Fish Island.  The successful acquisition of this conservation land would not have been possible if not for the dedication and hard work of countless individual participants across the state as well as in the local community.
