The parents of a St Augustine High School junior tell Historic City News that their son is the target of hazing from members of his class as well as a language arts teacher at the middle of a flap over a politically charged question on a vocabulary test given at the public-school Monday.
Gubernatorial candidate and Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum will return to St Augustine, this time with an entourage from the Florida Democratic Party in Tallahassee. When Gillum visited St Augustine Saturday, March 17, 2018, he was joined by Ronald Rawls Jr in front of a small group gathered in front of the Lightner Museum where he said, “We will remove all symbols of white supremacy from public property”.
Ellis calls for national search to find new city manager
Chris Ellis, candidate for City Commission, told Historic City News editor Michael Gold this week that, if elected, he is committed to completing a national search before the City of St Augustine hires its next city manager.
In conjunction with a fair housing study, required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and a condition for receiving Federal housing and community development funds, St Johns County is hosting two public meetings for residents to provide feedback.
