Sheriff puts DNA comparison to work in January

In a presentation before the civic roundtable last week, St. Johns County Sheriff David B. Shoar gave an overview of a new tool available from DNA:SI Laboratories in Burlington, NC which will be put to a field test locally to measure the value of using DNA evidence in in high-volume crime situations.

Local St. Augustine reporters have learned that three residences connected by a common parking area, are also connected as victims of recent burglaries in the area of Riberia Street and Carrera Street.

Local St. Augustine reporters at Historic City News were informed by police that an anonymous citizen turned over approximately $500 in stolen merchandise that has been returned to several downtown stores.
