Rural safety belt initiative begins

According to an announcement received by Historic City News today, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that rural drivers and their passengers are among the least likely American motorists to regularly use their safety belts.

Hastings fire under investigation

Jeremy Robshaw reported to Historic City News that St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire in the 800 block of North Main Street in Hastings at approximately 4:10am this morning.

Nolan conducts unique literary tour

A special one-day tour of many of the sites related to St. Augustine’s rich literary history will be conducted Saturday, April 4, as a fund raiser for the Friends of the Libraries of St. Johns County and the St. Augustine Record’s Newspaper in Education program.

Flagler lecture celebrates the Irish identity

Historic City News was informed that Flagler College history professors Wayne Riggs and Michael Butler will present a free lecture, “Irish Identity: From the Potato Famine to U2,” at 6:30 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th.
