Blessing of the Fleet 2009

On Palm Sunday, April 5, vessels ranging in size from shrimp trawlers to motorboats will receive a traditional blessing from the Very Reverend Thomas S. Willis, pastor of the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine according to an announcement received by Historic City News.

Weekend DUI checkpoints

Nesting areas staked off through August

Historic City News has been asked to alert residents and visitors who drive on St. Johns County beaches that this summer local, state and federal authorities are staking off areas of the beach to prevent human disturbance of returning beach nesting birds.

Burglar caught by alert deputy

Kevin Kelshaw has reported to Historic City News that a 28-year old St. Johns County man was arrested on a charge of burglary to a dwelling Wednesday night.
