Library and families grateful for food donations

The St. Johns County Public Library System has announced to the St. Johns County news desk of Historic City News that a total of 10,018 food items were collected during the recent Food for Fines program.

Hunter rescued after fall from tree stand

Public Education and Information Officer Jeremy Robshaw reported to the St. Johns County news desk of Historic City News that Fire Rescue personnel responded to a report of an injured hunter located in the 12 Mile Swamp Wildlife Management Area.

The latest twist in the missing person investigation of Martha Jean Lambert came today after a report that the victim’s brother, David Lambert, now says he did not tell the truth to detectives when he admitted causing his sister’s accidental death over 24 years ago.

Pending Senate confirmation, Historic City News has learned from the governor’s press office that 56 year old Jim Purdy of Daytona Beach has been reappointed to the Florida Medical Examiners Commission.

Arbor Day plantings since 1984

The City of St. Augustine has reported to Historic City News local St. Augustine news desk that after this month’s Arbor Day ceremonies, they will have planted a total of 72 trees over the past 27 years.
