Public Safety Advocate Sarrah Troncoso with the Florida Association of Counties reported to the St. Johns County local news desk at Historic City News that while counties are making cutbacks at every level, the Florida legislature may have some help for county sheriff’s — including David Shoar.
December 6, 2009 Alan Kelso announced to Historic City News that he was making his first run at a political office by registering his bid for the District 2 seat on the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners — as of December 31st he had changed his mind.

In his January, 2010 article Tom Patton said if Hometown Democracy Amendment 4, passed it would bog down the system and thousands of business decisions would be subject to a vote.
At the age of 18, I registered as a Republican — which was the same party of my great-grandfather three times removed who lived here in St. Johns County.
