The St. Johns County administrative offices informed local Historic City News reporters that all departments of the Board of County Commissioners will be closed on Friday, May 28th as an unpaid staff furlough day.

Son stabs father because he was denied use of car

A fight over the use of a car yesterday afternoon ended up with a 75 year-old man being treated for a stab wound and his son being jailed on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Bubba’s Bikes for Badges helps Anderson’s family

Syndicated Tampa radio personality Todd Clem, affectionately known as “Bubba the Love Sponge®” and heard each weekday morning on Cox radio’s WFYV-FM Rock 105 in Jacksonville, is using his celebrity status to benefit the families of local Deputy Sheriff James Anderson and two other fallen law enforcement officer’s families in other parts of the state.

Traffic relief ahead as Longleaf Pine Parkway opens

St. Johns County spokeswoman Karen Pan says that she is pleased to be able to announce the opening of another portion of County Road 244 to local reporters at Historic City News.

Visitor Center restrooms reopen in next few weeks

General Services Director Jim Piggott tells local St. Augustine reporters with Historic City News that the Visitor Information Center restrooms are promised to re-open “by the end of May, barring any unforeseen construction delays.”
