Local St. Augustine reporters at Historic City News have learned that Police Corporal Kevin Schmoll is investigating the theft of nearly $900 worth of appliances from a West Augustine business.
DeBow’s Appliances, located at 236 West King Street, reported to police that on-site surveillance cameras captured images of a vehicle, occupied by at least two suspects, believed to be responsible for the theft of several appliances that were sitting on the property, just outside of the locked fence.
According to the report, thieves stole a Maytag dryer ($10), Maytag refrigerator ($350), Whilpool refrigerator ($350), G.E. dryer ($150), and a G.E. stove ($10)
Community Affairs Officer Barbara Clifford of the St. Augustine Police Department reports that police are searching for an older model Chevy or GMC pickup truck, with a large dent in the bed, which was observed coming onto the property twice; once at 1:03 a.m. and the second time at 1:46 a.m.
