The school board’s decision not to allow an “Inspirational message” at the upcoming graduation exercises for fear of a “lawsuit”, or not knowing what a student might say with an “open” microphone, sends a very poor message to our students.

It has been a pleasure to serve on both of our State’s Appointed Digital Task Forces.
Due to Legislation that required end-of-course exams online using digital textbooks, and due to the school districts and unions signing off on the “Race to the Top” program that required digital implementation for all classrooms within 2 years, our Task Force was presented the challenges and was tasked to create solutions.
Eight young men from St Augustine Youth Services are getting to tell their story through an unusual medium: all-natural, handmade, biodegradable soap, with help from Flagler College Enactus; a student organization that focuses on creating community projects to empower people socially, economically and in an environmentally sustainable way.
The St Augustine Police Department informed Historic City News that they have received three separate complaints from local businesses who have been contacted by a man who fraudulently claims to represent Florida Power and Light Company.

Today, Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the House Judiciary Committee. My questions of the Attorney General focused on the following three issues:
Pledging to get the unpopular item on the City Commission agenda for approval at the June 10th commission meeting, Assistant City Manager Tim Burchfield met with Lincolnville residents and business owners yesterday; informing them that, no later than the June 24th meeting, construction of horse stables could get the “go ahead” needed to move forward.
Historic City News was informed by Public Information Officer Matthew Sara, that St Johns County Fire Rescue put a new rescue unit into service last week at Fire Station 14, located at 1255 West King Street in St Augustine.
