Dear Editor:
We now see more and more bicycles on our streets. Bicycles could mean fewer cars as well, however our problem; most cyclists and some motorists do not understand the Florida bicycle laws contained in Chapter316 of the Florida Statutes.



The Northeast Florida Builders Association reported to Historic City News that the total overall number of building permits issued in Northeast Florida during April increased by nearly 8 percent — but St Johns County did not help those numbers; booking a 5.1 percent loss from the previous month.
Historic City News has championed a cause during this year’s legislative session that will improve the public’s ability to be heard in public meetings; a sentiment echoed at Monday night’s meeting of the St Augustine City Commission by frequent public speaker, Betty Jane (B.J.) Kalaidi.

The Office of Florida Department of Law Enforcement Commissioner, Gerald Bailey, announced that tomorrow afternoon, Historic City News will be able to obtain a copy of the 2012 Annual Uniform Crime Report for the State of Florida.
Historic City News has previously exposed third party debt collection practices that clearly cross the line of legitimate business transactions with consumers, to the point of misstating the character and legally collectable amount of accounts — especially by bulk purchasers of delinquent debts and collection companies like Asset Acceptance LLC.
At about 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, Historic City News learned that deputies and members of the St Johns County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad had been dispatched to Flagler Hospital to examine a suspicious package.
During the Tuesday morning ceremony, naming the Neil J Perry Criminal Justice Complex, fallen law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty in St Johns County were also remembered.
