Improved flood rating means lower costs
Mark Knight, Director of Planning and Building, reported to Historic City News today that the City of St. Augustine has been working with a flood mitigation consultant for the past six months in an effort to lower the City’s flood rating score from an “eight” to a “seven”.

Arnolds destroyed by fire this morning
Historic City News received word that Arnold’s Restaurant, located at 3912 N. Ponce de Leon Boulevard in St. Augustine, has sustained major damage in an early morning fire in which no injuries were reported.

David Nolan reported to Historic City News this morning that at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon on WJXT Channel 4 (Jacksonville) the Oprah Winfrey Show will include interviews with Hank Thomas of Saint Augustine and three other Freedom Riders.
