Division of Blind Services celebrates 75-years of service
Yesterday, Historic City News attended the festive ceremony and expo celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Florida Department of Education’s Division of Blind Services held in Daytona Beach.

Historic City News reporters spoke with Mayor Nancy Shaver and others who attended last night’s well-attended presentation by the Florida Department of Transportation. Although the state says that they have settled on “Alternative 5” for the intersection of May Street and San Marco Avenue, continuing changes seem to indicate that certain aspects of the project may remain fluid right up until construction commences.

Historic City News readers have observed that The month of April was a very bad month for violent crime in the City of St Augustine and surrounding areas; however, Police Chief Loran Lueders addressed the City Commission at their regular meeting last night to provide his assessment of what he described as “anomalies”.
An Anastasia Boulevard pre-FDOT meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 26th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Black Fly restaurant on Anastasia Boulevard.
It’s time to get outside and enjoy our beautiful weather in our wonderful city. Get some exercise, meet and greet, walk and talk in your own neighborhood with Mayor Shaver.
