Finally, it’s over. July 4th may mark our independence as a nation, but it is July 1st that marks our independence in St. Johns County and across Florida from an antiquated 1973 system that officially was enacted to “standardize” pay of county officials based on the county’s population.

Teen financial literacy classes return
The St. Johns County Public Library System is teaming up with the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants to offer the Teen Financial Literacy series according to an announcement received by Historic City News from public information spokesman Rob Weber.
Local artists create A1A travelogue
Byway Program Administrator, Sallie O’Hara, announced to local Historic City News reporters that Friends of A1A members have collaborated with local artists to create a new travelogue which made its debut at last month’s Florida Scenic Highways State Conference.
