Historic City News has learned that the body of a 29 year-old man who went into the St Johns River to retrieve a cast net, and did not resurface, has been pulled from just below the surface of the water; about 20-30 feet north of the Shands pier.

In fact, before the adjournment of the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, a committee was appointed to create a seal that would symbolize America’s ideals. The committee included John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin–three of the drafters of the Declaration of Independence.
Build the ship fundraiser
The St Augustine Maritime Heritage Foundation announced to local Historic City News reporters that Ann O’Malley’s Pub, located at 23 Orange Street in St Augustine, will sponsor a special “Build the Ship” fundraiser on Sunday, July 29, from noon until 5:00 p.m.
