The public never really trusts politicians; and, after a series of scandals during the past several years, several of which were reported in Historic City News, there appears to be a serious desire to improve the image of Florida politics during the final days of the 2013 legislative session.

Over 3000 local students trained in hands-only CPR

Marine Rescue Lieutenant Jeremy Robshaw informed Historic City News reporters in St Johns County that being trained in hands-only CPR can make the difference when someone suffers sudden cardiac arrest — and this year, over 3000 local students have been taught the lifesaving procedure.

Advisory board appointed by Flagler sheriff

Historic City News was informed that a new volunteer advisory board has been appointed by Flagler County Sheriff James L. Manfre for the purpose of reviewing citizen complaints or concerns about the operation of the Sheriff’s Office and to propose recommendations for improvement to the sheriff after their review is complete.
