According to reports from several local merchants and residents along the King Street entrance corridor, the Public Works Department has been contacted by the Florida Department of Transportation concerning work planned to improve the roadway between Malaga Street and Martin Luther King Avenue.

St Johns Cultural Council announced to Historic City News that local non-profit organizations interested in applying to the Tourist Development Council for an “Art Cultural and Heritage Grant” during fiscal year 2014, will have three opportunities for a representative to attend a mandatory workshop.
Executive Director for Florida, Kevin Doyle, informed local Historic City News reporters that in order to further reduce America’s dependence on overseas oil, the Consumer Energy Alliance will participate at public hearings in Tallahassee and Panama City Beach to discuss a draft environmental impact statement for two proposed oil and gas leases in the Gulf of Mexico’s Eastern Planning Area.
