Sheriff: Core values “non-negotiable” — sometimes

In a case of perception being greater than reality, Historic City News has learned that St Johns County Sheriff David B. Shoar has been found inconsistent in the enforcement of what he calls a “non-negotiable” core value for his +600 civilian and sworn employees.



An aspiring professional movie maker, producer and director, Raphael Cosme Jr., a 15-year-old Sophomore at St Joseph Academy in St Augustine, recently returned from the XXIII Godzilla Convention and Festival at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Chicago, where his hobby won him his second first place win in the Youth category.

After 22 years of having a presence in the Town of Hastings, the St. Johns County Tax Collector informed local Historic City News reporters that Thursday, July 28th will be the last full day of business for his office there and that he is closing the Hastings branch effective August 1.
