First “visioning” workshop with facilitator
The steering committee of St. Augustine’s visioning project held its initial workshop on today, Saturday, April 5th. The two and a half hour meeting, which began at 9:00am in The Alcazar Room of City Hall, was attended by about 30 members of the public.
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month
Historic City News learned from Robin Burchfield, Director of Development for St. Augustine Youth Services, that in order to create awareness of the need to keep kids safe and families strong, her organization held a “Pinwheel Parade” March against Child Abuse this morning at their campus on US-1 South.

At its March annual meeting, the St. Augustine Art Association informed Historic City News that they recognized their volunteers for their outstanding service to the organization during the past year.

Laurie Sanderson reported the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations to Historic City News where the Florida Department of Transportation will be conducting roadwork that is expected to have an impact on driving, beginning this morning and continuing through the coming week.
