First city started at the Fountain of Youth

During the 1940’s, archaeologists performed excavations at the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park in St Augustine; but Dr. Kathleen Deagan reports that prior efforts “left holes” in the complete story of the historical significance of the site.
Saturday afternoon, Historic City News was notified that two county departments, St Johns County Fire Rescue and St Johns County Beach Services, were presented a handicap-equipped beach chair that will be used to assist disabled citizens who want to enjoy our local beaches.
Secretary of State Ken Detzner informed local Historic City News reporters that St Augustine’s upcoming Romanza Festivale has been included on the official website of Viva Florida 500; featuring a link for the city’s multi-day, multi-arts celebration taking place later this month.
