Chief and Sheriff to contract for shelter beds
Police Chief Loran Lueders told Historic City News that a redesign to accommodate safety requirements at the St. Francis House shelter will result in eight beds being assigned for City Police and the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.



Patti Henderson reported to Historic City News that, due to air conditioning problems at their regular meeting location, the St. Augustine Tea Party will hold tonight’s meeting at an alternate location.
Dean of Florida School of the Arts, Alain Hentschel, announced to local Historic City News reporters that there will be a variety of performing and visual arts events to enlighten and entertain with the Florida School of the Arts 2011-12 seasons.

Kenya Kelley informed local Historic City News reporters today that St. Johns River State College will hold orientations for students enrolled for the first time in their dual enrollment program.
Community Awareness Coordinator Kim Brumfield announced to Historic City News that invitations for the annual Betty Griffin House benefit fashion show luncheon are headed for the mailbox this week.
The “Town Crier Committee”, a group of members of the St Augustine Tea Party, told Historic City News local reporters that they attended the First Friday Art Walk event on August 5th.
