The 3-way race for St Augustine Port, Waterway and Beach District Commissioner, Seat 4, is a non-partisan, uncompensated contest between candidates Chuck Hennessy, Robert Kee, and (John) Carl Blow.
The Anastasia Mosquito Control District offers a host of operational and educational services; overseen by a five-member non-partisan elected board of commissioners who each earn $4,800 annually during their four-year term.
As we sat discussing options for this race and who might best serve the community for the next four years, it was not without consideration of what the City of St Augustine has done over the last four years — and where we see the town we all love in the future.
Historic City News and The St Augustine Record have clearly different editorial philosophies — I think it keeps things interesting, they give as good as they get and I’ve never written about them with malice and I don’t think anyone over there takes what is said over here personally, however I am surprised by their endorsement in this race.
