What a week. Former County Commissioner Mary Kohnke wrote a letter to a local editor that was published under the title “Colavito’s ouster from key county post questioned”.

The government isn’t the only one with budget troubles. Given the general downturn in the economy, extra expense is something most businesses, new and established, can’t afford.

At the writing of this editorial, the Senate Governmental Oversight and Accountability Committee is meeting (Thursday, March 5, 2009, from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) to consider SB 1104; a bill which we feel should be opposed.

I want to applaud the city commission for their unanimous decision to allow taxi cab operators in St. Augustine the option to establish their own method of calculating the fares they charge their customers.

I like my Windows XP. Don’t ask me why, maybe it’s because I’ve suffered through enough operating system “upgrades” since DOS to qualify me for sainthood or maybe it’s because right now everything works right.

When I read business headlines lately, I often shudder.

Since the implementation of the PATRIOT ACT, it seems like privacy concerns have come to the front of public discussion; nationally as well as right here in St. Augustine.
