Special to Historic City News

The beaches of St. Johns County are home to several species of endangered or threatened sea turtles. Residents and visitors have a special opportunity and responsibility to protect these magnificent creatures and their vulnerable nesting sites as they return each season to nest along the beaches.

Dear Historic City News editor:

The enclosed letter and documents have been mailed to Michael A. Lischio with the St. Johns County Property Appraiser. He will investigate for Homestead fraud, etc. You may wish to contact him and request records of his investigation, as I and others hope you will publish a story about Valdes’ hypocrisy and that he is corrupt and cannot follow his own rules.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of St Augustine and St Johns County’s mothers.  This is the day set aside to honor that one special lady who gave you life, or adopted you into her heart with the promise that she would be sure that you were prepared to make your way into the sometimes harsh big world where you would need patience, understanding, empathy, maturity, judgment, and a hundred other skills that come with being an adult.

Dear Historic City News editor:

We all breathed a sigh of relief when arson was not the cause of the Notre Dame Cathedral Fire in Paris, but we gasped in horror as Christians were firebombed at Churches on Easter day in Sri Lanka.

Editorial: Stop the pandas

Nancy Sikes-Kline is a “panda”, or, should I say, panderer.  It’s like a “rino” (not a rhino) but she’s one of them, too.  A “panda” tells anyone anything they want to hear without regard for her own intended course of action.  Basically, “two-faced”, or some might just say “liar”.
