It is quite correct that I am not a resident of St. Augustine. But I do pledge allegiance, quite regularly, to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands.

Museum curators: Tell your legislators to continue grant funding

There may be a trend developing in the State of Florida toward reducing funding for museums and cultural institutions.  If that occurs, Historic City News readers on the First Coast will be hard hit.

I was raised in a family by two military officers; one commissioned, the other non-commissioned.  I learned about the importance of the men and women who defend our American freedoms from a man and woman who went overseas and did.

A group of St Augustine citizens, who have assembled together against panhandling, provided Historic City News with a copy of a brief petition they hope to present to city management at an upcoming city commission meeting.

I noticed that in The St Augustine Record’s recent list of the most important stories of 2017 they included my article documenting Sheriff Shoar’s attempt to discredit a state law enforcement officer who had found serious shortcomings with the sheriff’s investigation of the Michelle O’Connell shooting.

As more and more groups try to create an unsuspecting, negative narrative about the agricultural industry, and more specifically sugar, I would like to personally give thanks this holiday season to Congressman Yoho for supporting our American agricultural industry and standing up for the American jobs that our industry creates.
