On January 15th, Historic City News reported that questions have been raised about a new structure that was built in addition to the reconstruction of the bridge.

Historic City News has learned that five St. Johns County commissioners take well over a quarter-million dollars in salaries – plus a package of benefits that includes county-paid health care and pension contributions – as compensation for their duties; that, at one time, a former three-term commissioner recalls paid about $400 a month.

Florida Division of Recreation and Parks got some bad news Wedneday when the Department of Environmental Protection presented the Legislature an unprecedented list of 53 state parks that will be closed, including Fort Mose in St. Augustine.

Jeremy Robshaw, Public Information Officer with St. Johns County Fire Rescue, informed Historic City News local reporters that after consideration of current fire conditions county officials have decided to lift the burn ban for St. Johns County.
